Apologies folks, no spectacular images or video footage on this one...
Rather, I guess, an insight into why I care so much about the circus. And the "why" of Tiny Circus... My mother was a circus performer, first in Rome, and then Bath. When I was a kid I was brought up with her stories of the circus- the elephants, the Lion Tamer... the show always goes on. Our neighbours managed the circus shop in town- every family gift was a circus toy or other. If you went in to the heart of the city of Bath during tourist season you would encounter world class circus artists- I guess when you encounter this stuff at every turn, it'll sink into your core. No regrets there. I was 15 when I first performed- for 7 years after that point I made a sideline life-hack of it- gigs with Leeds University, promotion for nightclubs and festivals, so on and so forth. I stopped performing for a while to concentrate on a teaching career, but once bitten by the circus bug, you can't ever truly leave it... Recently I was a little stuck in the "where and whats " of life, and a woman (always wise), told me to "follow my heart". My heart is circus. And education. And so... Tiny Circus. Done proper. Bigger and bolder than ever before, but with a massive heart...
